This Domain will not be renewed

Good Day to You,

This site has not turned into a successful business. No income is being earned here. In short, I’ve stopped adding content here and will remove it from the web, once the domain name expires.

I will recommend to you one resource working “to share all insights, experiences, and training needed for any individual, company, or enterprise to succeed in the digital space, all free of charge”.

This source it called NOMVO at nomvo.com.

I am still maintaining Pets to Pat at petstopat.com for those of you who may be interested in pets. The site will have some affiliate links, but for the most part will provide valuable information and resources for pet owners and lovers like myself.

Pets to Pat will be replacing Customer First Marketer at customerfirstmarketer.com which will also be removed when the domain name expires.

Just a little posting glitch

Good Day to You,

With more than one blog, commenting sometimes links to the wrong blog by mistake.

If you intended to follow my “pet friendly” blog, go Customer First Marketer. Sorry for the mix up!

WordPress is great for being able to reply to a post and easily follow a blog we like.

Sometimes though, the unintended happens.

I’ve tried logging into my WP Dashboard as Customer First Marketer instead of Professional Licensing Helper, to avoid getting followers to the wrong blog, but am still having issues.

We should get the option to choose which blog we want to link to, when leaving a comment on a  post, but it doesn’t always work that way.

I’m going to ask the Happiness Engineers at Automatic for help, making CFM the default blog linked to.

So, if you want to follow the blog dedicated to “pets”, you need to follow Customer First Marketer.

I’m really sorry about that and hope to resolve this issue soon.

I’m not sure what will become of this blog right now, either a repurpose, or not. A lot depends on getting this right.

I hope you like the pet friendly changes coming to CFM, including an introduction to a wonderful online dog trainer.

I’m not tracking your contact info when WordPress emails of your “follow”. That’s the reason for this post.

Isn’t it nice to know your contact information is protected?

Thank you for your interest.

WordPress Advertising Policy Quick References Anyone?

Good Day to You,

This is both a progress report on my new Affiliate Marketing project, and an introduction to a new section being created here on Professional Licensing Helper that shares PDFs located on the section with the same name at Customer First Marketer.

This is one very useful way that I can provide improved Customer Experience, while saying THANK YOU for visiting!

The name of this new Section is “Policy Quick References”. Included in this section on both blogs will be free (yes FREE) Policy Quick Reference PDFs, providing alphabetical listings of the Policies from other websites.

Is this Allowed? EMPOWERED

Few things are more TEDIOUS than having to stop in the middle of developing a really good idea than suddenly wondering “Does my web host allow this?”

If you use WordPress.com as your host, even if you host your WordPress site on a different third party host with WordPress.org, this is for YOU!

This simple alphabetical listing, complete with Resource Links to the source articles can help you find your answer(s) quickly. You may not even need to contact support by checking this Policy Reference first:

WordPress Advertising Policy Quick Reference

Customer First Marketer

You can learn more about the reasons why I have decided to start providing these Policy Quick References in my post on Customer First Marketer called:

Need a WordPress Advertising Policy Quick Reference?

By Openclipart – Click/Tap image to visit the source.
By Openclipart – Click/Tap image to visit the source.

So, what do you think?

I hope you will share this with your contacts, once you take the time to look through this simple reference yourself.

Do you have a “Quick Reference” Suggestion to share?

I’m considering using this idea here on Professional Licensing Helper, as an alternative to creating tons of additional pages to this site.

If you compare the Resource Links Tool here with the new PDF, it doesn’t take much imagination to see the page space savings that changing to using a PDF format could save.

Have an idea or suggestion you would like to share?

Feel free to leave a comment and start a conversation below, or use the Contact Form to contact me in a less public manner and communicate with me by email.

Forced to Redirect but not stop Helping

Good Day to You,

A Tough Post

I’m going to start right off by telling you that this is a very difficult post for me.

This Redirection in my online activities is coming about due to my need to “make a buck”, plain and simple.

I’m not a “Sales Man”

If you take the time to look at this project, you will clearly NOT SEE ANY promotions or other means to try and get you to BUY ANYTHING.

I am basically a “Helper” and plan to continue being.

Why Supplementing my Retirement Income Needs to Happen.

I’m quite sure that many of you can relate to the fact that our pay checks just don’t support ourselves or our loved ones, as they once did.

In my thirty (30) years as a Maine State Employee, we have continuously been forced to make concessions in many ways.

To those of you who are under the impression that your local government employees “have it made”, this may well be somewhat of a shock to you.

FACT:

Government employees are subject to the whims of every change in political agenda, after each election and/or when the next fiscal year budget is on the legislative agenda.

Every time someone has “good intentions” to “cut the budget”, “reallocate funds”, or in some other way “balance the budget”, the first thing that is considered is the “Pay Check” or “Benefit Package” of your local government employee.

More Disturbing Facts:

In my thirty (30) years of service, the eligibility age for retirement was changed from the age of fifty five (55) to sixty two (62), with suggestions that the minimum retirement age may even rise to become still older for newer employees.

Nearly every time we have gotten a significant raise in pay, we have been forced to suffer through State “Shutdown Days” or “Furlough” days (without pay). This happens when suddenly, the state is “out of money”.

Our employee benefits have suffered greatly in other ways as well.

A Disturbing Trend

All of the above issues are not only affecting government employees, but the greater majority of us “working class” citizens as well.

It seems less and less of us can afford to retire any more. Things have gotten even worse than just faced with not being able to afford retirement when we reach “retirement age”.

More of us are realizing that we MAY NEVER BE ABLE TO AFFORD TO RETIRE, no matter how much longer we work.

PLEASE NOTE:

This is in no way intended to be a “political statement” and has absolutely NOTHING to do with politics. I will not disclose my political preferences publically EVER.

Why I choose to Retire – Part 1:

Up until the last year or so of my state employment, I had a substantial amount of sick leave and vacation built up. I even had some comp time on the books.

Last November 2014, my wife became ill. Her disabled brother lives with us. He is the person who is also responsible for my online name of “Arth”.

I was forced to take an extended “Family Medical Leave”, in order to take care of my family. My paid leave time was all but depleted.

After returning to work, the “Family Medical Leave” continued to cover me for taking my wife and her brother to doctor appointments.

Just so you know, being approved for the “Family Medical Leave” program, allows us to be able to keep medical appointments, without being restrained by the “needs of the office”. We are still required to use any paid sick, vacation, or comp time we have on the books.

Should you find yourself in a similar position, remember to contact your employer’s personnel office, and ask them to approve it for you. If you meet the guidelines, your employer must comply with this Federal Law.

The continuous doctor appointments, forced me to continue to deplete my paid sick leave, vacation and comp time.

In fact, if I had not retired, the “Family Medical Leave” approval would now be expired, along with all my remaining paid time off.

Why I choose to Retire – Part 2:

The single most devastating change in our state employee benefits is something I’m sure we all can relate to.

MEDICAL INSURANCE:

We have gone through many changes in coverage, dealing with copays, subscription medication and more.

The DECIDING FACTOR that just put me “over the edge” in deciding to retire regardless of if I COULD AFFORD TO OR NOT, came when we were forced to accept our Health Insurance Company requiring an Annual Deductible increase to FOUR THOUSAND DOLLARS “$4,000” A YEAR.

Frankly, I couldn’t afford to pay that amount of money, before my health insurance company decides to start paying the bills, EVEN IF I KEPT WORKING FULL TIME.

THIS IS AFFORDABLE HEALTH CARE???

Even worse, if we don’t pay for this SO CALLED Health Insurance, we are penalized with having to PAY HIGHER TAXES.

Where is our FREEDOM OF CHOICE?

Not Politics, just Frustration:

Before I explain just how I plan to “Redirect” my efforts, I need to express this as an American Citizen and Veteran.

I am going to quote the U.S. Constitution, by reminding everyone of the very first words in the original document:

“WE THE PEOPLE”

How long are we as American Citizens going to allow the above three (3) words to be so corrupted by the very people who are supposed to have our “best interest” in mind?

Yes, I’m talking about the very people, who are charged with creating laws and policies that affect all of us.

You know, the ones who are supposed to be supporting “WE THE PEOPLE”?

Now, instead of Health Care being “affordable”, we have OUTRAGOUS conditions, where our doctor is governed by what our HEALTH INSURANCE COMPANY will cover.

How often have you been in a situation when you or a family member, or even a close friend, had to pay for something “out of pocket”, because the Health Insurance Company, wouldn’t cover the cost?

Never happen?

IT WILL!

How many times have you or someone you know had to go without NECESSARY TREATMENT OR SUPPLIES, because the “Experts” (who are paid by the INSURANCE COMPANY), decide that “best” or “accepted” practice didn’t dictate it?

Did your doctor agree, or even have a choice in the decision?

A Serious Threat to our Freedom of Choice

How is it that some company can overrule or impede our personal and private treatment plans between ourselves and our doctor?

Why is this being allowed?

Because “We the PEOPLE” are being overruled by “We the SPECIAL INTEREST GROUP”; “We the CORPORATION” and “We with the DEEPEST POCKETS”.

So, now you understand why I need to “redirect” my efforts into a new direction in order to generate income to supplement my retirement.

I am not abandoning Professional Licensing Helper, just focusing my efforts on income generation for now.

The New Direction, is still as a Helper

I’m sure most of you know what Affiliate Marketing is.

Generally, an Affiliate Marketer is paid a commission, when a product or service they promote, is sold.

The most prevalent advice given for becoming a successful Affiliate Marketer, is to find a niche you are interested in (hopefully a popular one). Find a special need in that niche and fill it.

The above explanation is an over simplification, but serves our purpose here.

My Affiliate Process Checklist

I want to take the concept of Affiliate Marketing, and do something special with it by Learning about and Sharing:

  • What’s Trending
  • What’s getting the fewest returns (refunds)
  • Finding Independent Online Product Reviews
  • Linking to independent findings when possible, rather than just “testimonials” provided by the seller.
  • Sharing the Refund Policy and Return Policy of the affiliate whose product I’m promoting (and link to it if possible).
  • Encouraging you to leave your own comments, expressing your own experiences, product suggestions, or any other recommendations.
  • Providing purchasing opportunities for the Affiliate Products and Services, found to be of quality.

Staying Compliant with the Policies of my Affiliates

I’m going to have to be very careful to stay within the policies established by my affiliates.

It may not be possible for me to promote like products from different affiliate programs.

Other restrictions may also exist.

I will be spending time studying policies, terms of use and other requirements, in order to do this properly.

Hopefully, the end result will be an online market place you will have confidence in, because you can find the tools you need to make your own informed choices.

Customer First Focus

Not all the successful Affiliate Marketers agree that concentrating only on products and services we are personally interested in and use is a requirement.

Having to “purchase and test” a product first is also not a necessary requirement, provided we can ensure the quality of the products we promote, through research.

Nothing says I can’t share my research results with you, in a non-biased way, when testing is possible.

My Concept:

I want to provide you with Resource Links to the Results of my own Independent Research, to help insure a realistic degree of Quality Control that you can access for yourself.

Of course, when possible, I may test a product or service myself and share my own experience with you as well.

Continuing to be a Helper on Both this site and the new Marketing one.

  • By providing “Resource Links”, to the information you need to make an INFORMED choice, when considering the products offered, or relating to Professional Licensing as my priority.
  • By Linking to Information that has no connection to my affiliates or myself.
  • By allowing you to provide your own comments and suggestions.
  • By providing you with a Contact Form, so that you can get a personal response from me.

An “Almost” Apology

I apologize for having to redirect my attention to sales.

Not so much for “telling it like it is” and being transparent about the circumstances involved in making these changes.

About the New Site

Site creation and development will begin, after doing some more preliminary research and planning. I’m “learning as I go” with this, so bear with me.

This will be an interesting learning experience for me, and a wonderful resource for you to learn about some product research resources as well.

All the little details are not worked out yet, but I will share with you the site title and domain name I’m considering.

The most promising name being considered for the site right now is:

“Customer First Marketer”

Do you think the name fits my concept for the site?

Please feel free to share your thoughts in the comments or by using the Contact Form.

Don't be Afraid - Go For It!!! - LEARN - HELP - GROW

LEARN – HELP – GROW

Staying true to this concept is still very important to me.

“Don’t be afraid” to see the value you can share with those around you.

Sometimes believing in ourselves means we just have to “GO FOR IT!!!”

I believe that keeping YOU FIRST, is the best way to proceed with integrity, while maintaining our MUTUAL RESPECT and TRUST.

Please feel free to share your thoughts and start a conversation in the comments.

Let me know how you feel this redirection can best be used to provide the kind of informed and reliable “freedom of choice” in selecting the products or services you see on the new site.

I am only now, beginning to fully develop this concept. It will take some time to turn it into a reality.

Thank You, to those of you still reading this rather long and complicated post. I appreciate your understanding and hope to continue to earn your trust.

More Ways to Ask Licensing Questions

Good Day to You,

Have you ever wanted to be able to Ask Questions, without having to give out your email address to get the answer?

How about being able to browse questions in a reader, related to your interest, and see all the answers provided by experienced people, who are there to help?

Would you like to be able to see a short “Bio”, provided by the person(s) answering those questions?

Would you like me to tell you MORE?

I discovered this wonderful resource when one of my social media contacts looked at this project. She told me about a place where people were asking “licensing” questions. She suggested that this would be a great opportunity for me to answer some of these questions to help with Brand Building.

Not only has this been an excellent experience for growing and learning, but an opportunity to be “Helpful” as well.

You will not find advertising, spam or any other distractions, just an opportunity to ask questions and get some really good answers.

Your Help is Much Appreciated Dariya!

It isn’t that often, when someone more experienced than ourselves actually takes the time to REALLY LOOK at our project. Almost never, when that person reaches out with a private message in social media giving outstanding TARGETED advice.

As I’m writing this post, the number of views to my answers have past five thousand (5,000). All these views have happened within the last thirty (30) days!

Her name is Dariya Lopukhina.

She contributes articles on a blog, owned by “an international custom software development services provider” (taken from their “About us” webpage), and called “Anadea Inc.”. I think you will find the reading interesting and informative at the ANADEA Blog.

Dariya is also very active providing answers to questions at Quora. I highly recommend that you take a look at her Quora Profile.

Among her impressive list of qualifications as a Blogger, she shares her knowledge in Social Media and Internet Marketing.

Thank You SO MUCH Dariya, for going out of your way to give such wonderful and targeted advice!

Quality and Diverse Answers

Questions are presented to registered users, who have the opportunity to choose from a diverse list of “interests”. Users are from around the globe, with a wide range of experience.

Users are given a list of questions in the “Reader”. We can choose to “pass” on each question. When we “pass” on a question, we also have the chance to send a message to the question’s author, explaining why we passed on the question.

It’s totally up to us what we do:

• Ask questions
• Answer questions
• Pass on answering questions
• Pass on answering questions and explain why
• Read Questions and Answers

Questions that you submit are screened.

If you want to ask a question, you are required to create an account.

Any submitted questions are screened to be sure that they are not too vague, an attempt at self-promotion and are ethical.

If for some reason, your question is not published, a moderator will explain why and make a suggestion, based on the “community rules”.

How this is helping to build my Brand

Originally, my intentions for joining Quora were to find and answer questions that were directly related to the niche associated with “Professional Licensing”.

Answering questions related to my niche, is appealing and very enabling, allowing me to “show my stuff”.

New challenges in the form of questions, not strictly within my “niche”, challenge me and help to develop my skill in searching government websites. Other questions require me to do research outside my “comfort zone”, presenting an opportunity to expand on my skill set, using familiar search engines like Google or Bing (on a limited basis).

I am not concerned that traffic to this project has not increased, since joining this question and answer site, because this project is still a “work in progress”. Even if that changes over time, it isn’t the most important reason for being there.

This is a place to Learn, Help and Grow.

Even better, it is also a place to do these things, beyond the scope of my niche, when possible.

After all, “Helper” is included in the title of this project.

Everyone Benefits

You will be enriched, no matter the reason for visiting this resource.

You might find a question already asked, with at least one answer that fits your need.

You may want to ask a question, not sufficiently answered doing a search, or by any other resource.

You may be motivated to find questions within your niche, enabling you to “show your stuff”, and build your Brand.

An Opportunity to create a Free Blog, hosted on Quora.

I’m not an advocate of Free Hosting

Well, let me explain a bit.

This is different than free hosting for your Business Blog/Website.

Simply put, Free Hosting is fine, while we are “feeling our way”, “learning our focus”, and dealing with the huge learning curve all of that involves.

This is one of the reasons I love WordPress.com. We can start out with free hosting and build. Then, when we are ready, upgrade to a paid hosting plan, without losing what we have already built.

Having paid hosting with your own domain name, shows that you are “professional”, and an “expert” in your niche. This is very important in building your Brand.

Why I created my Free Blog

Creating this Quora blog, allows me to further build my Brand, because it is connected to a very valuable and respected resource on the Internet.

I am able to link to it from this site, and also link to here from Quora. This should help build my brand in the eyes of search engines (hopefully). I don’t believe Google will penalize me, because the content is not duplicated, is relevant and has the same author.

The posts on Quora will be different. They will be specifically targeted to be helpful and supportive to the question and answer process, established there.

I would love to know what you think of this strategy.

Do you think it is a good idea?

New Blogroll

You will notice a new section in my sidebar called “Questions Answered”, near the top of the page.

This Blogroll has links to Quora, and my Quora blog.

Another resource will be added to the “Questions Answered” Blogroll later, along with my next post here.

I give you Quora

All of the above and more are waiting for you to explore at Quora.

Use this link to learn more about Why Quora Exists.

Getting the Answer(s) You Want

The more precise you are, when asking a question, on Quora and here at PLH, the better (and more helpful) answer you can be given.

Be sure to take a look at this post on the Professional Licensing Helper blog at Quora here:

Asking the right Licensing Question to get the Answer You Want

Project Updates:

If you have been to this project before, you will notice at least one change. There are no longer two (2) side bars.

The most noticeable change is the new “Button” theme, with a different color scheme.

The name of the “Professions” section has been changed to “State & Territory Listings”. This is the new home page for that section. It can now be accessed by the main menu, instead of the previous menu located in one of the side bars.

I hope you like the changes here, and take advantage of this opportunity to Learn, Help and Grow at Quora.

Acupuncture – Custom-Made Chinese Herbal Formulations Certification – Naturopathic Acupuncture – Naturopathic Doctor Links Page added to the Maine Professional Licensing Section

Good Day to You,

Professionals in Maine, you now have a better way to locate the specific resources and information found on official Administrative Agency webpages.

You will find this valuable addition to this project at:

Acupuncture – Custom-Made Chinese Herbal Formulations Certification – Naturopathic Acupuncture – Naturopathic Doctor.

This is the next step in developing a tool, intended to help you avoid having to sort through the sometimes repetitive process of needing to click yet another link, after following a link on a previous page.

Acupuncture Body By blue sky – Click/Tap the image to view the source.

More than Just Links

The new format, represented by the addition of this page will first grow in the Maine Professional Licensing Section. Once that section is completed, the Professions Section build will begin.

Descriptive Links

You will see that the links themselves are descriptive. You will be able to recognize the destination page from the name of the link. This should help you identify where you are going. You will know the page title and website the page is on, recognizing it more easily.

Alphabetically Listed

The resources and information you need to find, will be easier for you to locate, because they are indexed in alphabetical order.

More Description When Needed

In some cases, a brief listing called “AS FOUND ON THIS PAGE:” is found directly under the resource link. This information IS NOT indexed alphabetically, but in the order the information is FOUND ON THE PAGE. In this way, you will be more likely to find this information, by following the page order as listed.

Simple Structure

Each Profession’s dedicated page will have a similar format to this one.

Each page will have the following headings:

HOME PAGE

LICENSE TYPES

This heading is dependent upon the availability of dedicated “License Type” pages for that Profession.

MORE

Under this heading is where the alphabetically indexed list of links to Information and Resources begins.

All the links are descriptive so that you know where the link takes you in advance.

Listing Online Services

Sometimes using the “AS FOUND ON THIS PAGE:” designation just isn’t going to be enough to allow you to be able to find all the various ways a resource like Online Services or an Online Search Engine can be used.

Instead of having a single resource link going to one of the above mentioned resources, you will find each “function” listed alphabetically as an individual resource link.

From Professional Licensing Links to Pages

Good Day to You,

A transformation is beginning to take place in the Maine Professional Licensing section of the site.

The “section” has consisted of a single page for quite a while now. The number of pages in the working document being used to further grow and develop the information and resources made available through this process, began to grow to fifty (50) pages.

The amazing thing is that the information taking up the first 37 pages doesn’t even get us past the letter “D”.

Now, new pages are being added to the section for each Profession, replacing the simple linking process currently in use.

Over time, the name of each Profession on the Maine Professional Licensing page (now the home page for the section) will become a link to that profession’s dedicated link page.

Starting with the Accountants Profession, with more pages to come.
